Storytelling and moving images have caught my interest at an early age. I grew up in Zurich, Switzerland where during my High School years I started directing experimental short films. Soon they were screened and won awards in festivals in Europe, US and Japan. After graduating I started freelancing in various positions on commercials, documentaries and feature films, eager to learn about all aspects of filmmaking. Since then I have always kept an editing setup that would allow me to accept freelance jobs but more importantly has continued to be my playground to experiment with moving images.
Next to all my filmmaking activities I have earned a Masters degree from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at Tisch School of the Arts (NYU) in 2003. Working as editor, programmer and interaction designer with award winning design firms Local Projects and Picture Projects in New York has allowed me to work on some very exciting and technically challenging Museum projects with a unique visual grammar. Among others the 'Timescapes' film, a permanent multi-screen documentary for the Museum of the City of New York and the 'An American Synagogue' documentary film for the visitor center of Frank Lloyd Wright's 'Beth Sholom' building in Elkins Park, PA.
I am proficient in Final Cut Pro, AVID, AfterEffects and DVD Studio Pro. Next to regular TV and film editing I have edited for special formats including multi-screen installations and interactive projects. I have a Final Cut Pro / After Effects setup in my studio and I'm available for freelance work.
